so the rest of my birthday was better than drivers school. shannon surprised me by making me the funfetti cake that lynne bowen gave me. then finger dart capture the flag was super fun/dangerous (which is one of the most fun kinds of fun). i got shot in the eye with a finger dart and was almost certain i would have a black eye, but as of today my face is still appropriately colored. yesterday i took the drivers test and failed, i was pretty frusterated because i felt like the wording was unfair (like here headlights mean highbeams). after that i took the shuttle to the other base (there are two bases that are the same base, its complicated) and hung out with jen, we played guitar hero and then went to navigators. i'm starting to feel more comfortable with people here so thats good. i still havent really made any good friends but jen and i are getting there. today i took the drivers test again and only missed one, the lady was impressed so i wanted to brag about it a little to y'all. i think thats pretty much it for now, i tried to put some videos of finger dart capture the flag up on you tube but it didnt work. if i get it fixed i'll get them posted.

hey!! so i am glad ur birthday got better. i am officially home and not going out of town for six more days so we should try and ichat! thats awesome that you got funfetti cake on ur birthday. i am glad to hear that. but you know me, i love food! so i should tell you about my crazy flying story since you can relate, and if you were here i know i would tell you, so we must keep our friendship alive!! well, amy, sabrina, and i went to vegas for 3 days and our flight home was yesterday due to leave at 7:47pm. we arrived at the airport at 5:30 or so, had dinner and made it to the gate. then about 7:20, five minutes after we should have boarded, we realize we're running late and no announcement has been made. at 7:30 we went to the desk to find four other people who are curious about the state of our flight. had we been given the wrong gate number? had it been delayed? but we quickly realized there were only 7 of us booked for this flight. the lady at the desk, who avoided eye contact at all times, mumbled and covered her mouth when she was on the phone, and took her employee behind a wall to discuss out problem, informed us our flight did not exhist and referred to it as a "ghost flight" and said that we just didn't have a flight. then the other four people who were booked for our nonexhsitant flight, with their saggy pants, blingin sunglasses, and gold front teeth (grills if you will) were a lot angrier or more vocal than we were, yelled and demanded a flight, rightfully so, so she offered a flight at midnight and the lady said it was unexceptable (her son had to work at midnight, at lowes, and he makes $180 a night!!) and threatened and did all this stuff so she offered a flight at 8:50, it now being 7:50 but it was with another airlines so we would have to shuttle back, re-checkin and go to another gate. so we ran to find a long line knowing waiting in it meant missing our flight. but our four friends saved the day by threatening to fight the man at the counter and throwing the poll that keeps the lines and cutting in line with first class. the lady there with the other airlines said that she didn't know if she could get us on this flight cause the shady lady who wouldn't make eye contact didn't do it right. and she didn't do anything to change our bags so they were also on a flight that didn't exhisit. so finally we got our boarding pass and thanks to our new "friends" we also got put through heightened securiety where i got patted down by a man in his early thirtys who felt comfortble enough to call me baby and honey during the process. after our bags were searched and wiped down with some chemical, we ran through to our gate and boarded the plane. to find out that we had no pilot. so we waited on the plane for 45 minutes. it was a bumpy flight where i feared for my life because nothing had gone right that day so i didn't know why our plane should land safely. when it did we again waited because there was no open gate to pull in to. we polished the night off by searching SFO for united and u.s. airways unclaimed bagage and filling our forms. i still don't have my luggage but am sooo hopeful it will come soon!! well anyways, that was my horror flying story. not nearly as tramatic as yours but eventful none the less. so yeah, i hope ur having fun today and let me know when we can ichat. i miss you and love you! and we"ll talk soon!!
